An Aurora In My Heart

Having shed my skin of an

earlier age, my heart grown

plump after a life I'd finally

escaped, a secret river ran

through me of the past I'd

had to endure, the merest

memory of it piercing me

like a pin cushion. Now,

at last, I've been met with

a calming shade of blue,

a path bordered by lilacs

and the sun ripening the sky

for future days ahead, and

I find myself quivering so

happily as if I'd been swathed

in silks; courage slowly, so

steadily, spreading over my

mouth and face – my hope

revised again, and an aurora

in my heart, my own personal

heaven.
